Rebels Chairman nets national award

13th October 2014

Cornish Rebels Chairman John Beach has been recognised by the governing body of Rugby League for his outstanding contribution to the sport in 2014.

At a prestigious ceremonial dinner held before the First Utility Super League Grand Final in the Captain's Lounge at Old Trafford John was joined by many of the Rugby League elite for the RFL Community Awards 2014.

The recognition came in the form of the Community Volunteer of the Year Award.

John was shortlisted alongside two other volunteers, but the governing body decided to reward John following his immense dedication and hard work to put Cornwall on the Rugby League map.

He follows the team week in, week out up and down the South West during the season, and he is also the driving force of the club off the pitch.

After an outstanding year for Rugby League in the Duchy, following much national recognition for the Rebels and after steering the team to immense success on the field, we hope you will join us in congratulating John on an award he thoroughly deserves.
